Volume: 750ml ml

The 10 Year Tawny Port from Caves Santa Marta has been fermented in lagares (traditional stone tanks used for foot treading grapes) and aged in small wooden barrels to allow more oxidation. A fine, semi-transparent amber in colour, it has a nutty toastiness that opens up to a sweet, powerful palate of fruits and nuts, a lean silky texture, and a long finish. Caves Santa Marta is a cooperative formed back in 1959 by winegrowers in Santa Marta de Penaguião, right in the heart of the historic Douro wine region in northern Portugal. These days, the cooperative produces around six million litres of wine per annum and exports around the world. Its commitment to quality is reflected in its beautiful, highly accessible port wines, varying from ruby to vintage, and a fascinating selection of wines that showcase Portugal’s many unique varietals—or very familiar varietals that take on unique nuances arising from the Douro region’s unique terroir. The 10 Year Tawny Port is a great introduction to Caves Santa Marta’s impressive range.
