The Caves Santa Marta Ruby Port retains its vivid red colour and fresh fruit flavours thanks to storage in large tanks that minimize the oxygen exposure. On the nose, it has an abundance of red fruit, blackberry jam, and blueberry. On the palate, the alcohol is well-integrated with perfect acidity and a long finish. Caves Santa Marta is a cooperative formed back in 1959 by winegrowers in Santa Marta de Penaguião, right in the heart of the historic Douro wine region in northern Portugal. These days, the cooperative produces around six million litres of wine per annum and exports around the world.
